- The time that your Mac displays is not only for your convenience, but also a requirement for many of OS X's services. This includes its ability to schedule tasks and notify you of calendar events, as well as time-stamp files and events, and properly communicate with online services using some forms of encryption.
- For others, there's SheepShaver, a PowerPC emulator capable of running Mac OS 9.0.4 down to Mac OS 7.5.2 and there's Basilisk II, a 68k emulator, capable of running Mac OS (8.1 to 7.0). For everything older than System 7, you will need a Mac Plus emulator like Mini vMac NEW!
Check Date & Time preferences
When I do the Command + R+Power for recovery mode I get a spinning globe and a clock. When I do the Command + Option+Command +R I get the Recovery screen and I try to reinstall Mac OS but It doesn't show a disk, to install to. I have no idea what I'm doing. And so angry at myself for what I did. One thought I had was.
- Choose Apple menu > System Preferences, then click Date & Time.
- Click the lock in the corner of the window, then enter your administrator password to unlock the settings. (The settings are dimmed when locked.)
- In the Date & Time pane, make sure that 'Set date and time automatically' is selected and your Mac is connected to the internet. Your Mac can then get the current date and time from the network time server selected in the adjacent menu.
Simply resize the window to go from menu bar style window to a large window with a gorgeous world map. Or simply access The Clock from Notification Center with the useful Widget or from the Touch Bar. Change your font size as you see fit with the Dynamic Type font. All your devices. The Clock adapt to your way of working, Mac, iPhone, iPad. The first year, I just created a simple grandfather clock simulation, where you could move the clock hands around with the arrow keys. The next year I made a simple game where you click the clocks to turn them back one hour. Last year I made a space shooter, where you use a clock wind-up key to blast the clocks.
If you don't have an internet connection, or you want to set the date and time manually, deselect 'Set date and time automatically.' You can then click today's date on the calendar, drag the clock's hands to the correct time, or use the fields above the calendar and clock to enter the date and time. Then click Save.
